Welcome to QA Mentorworks

An introduction to what QA Mentorworks is about—building thriving QA communities and quality cultures that last.

Quality isn’t a department. It’s a culture. And cultures can be built.

That’s the core belief behind QA Mentorworks. After eighteen years in software testing—including building and running the QA track at OP Software Academy—I’ve learned that the technical parts of QA are rarely the bottleneck anymore.

The Real Challenge

We’ve gotten remarkably good at the machinery of quality:

  • Test automation frameworks that run thousands of tests in minutes
  • CI/CD pipelines that catch issues before they reach production
  • Shift-left strategies that find bugs earlier and cheaper

And yet. Knowledge still walks out the door every time someone leaves. Teams three floors apart solve the same problems in isolation. Junior testers stall at “competent” because there’s no visible path to “excellent.”

What I Work On

The gap I focus on isn’t technical. It’s human. The infrastructure that helps QA professionals:

  • Connect with each other across silos and departments
  • Grow from junior testers into confident QA leaders
  • Share knowledge in ways that compound over time
  • Build cultures where quality isn’t just a metric—it’s how people think

Why This Matters

Most QA improvements depend entirely on who’s driving them. When that person moves on, the improvement dies. The frameworks decay. The communities go silent.

What if we built quality systems that could survive the departure of any single champion? What if knowledge flowed naturally, even when nobody was explicitly pushing it?

That’s the work. Building the human infrastructure of quality.

If any of this resonates—if you’re trying to build something lasting for QA at your organization—let’s talk. No pitch, no pressure. Just a conversation about what you’re facing.
