Most QA improvements depend entirely on who's driving them. When that person moves on, the improvement dies. I help organizations build quality cultures and QA communities with roots deep enough to survive personnel changes, reorganizations, and the next "transformation initiative."
Here's what I've observed across dozens of organizations and eighteen years in this industry:
We've gotten remarkably good at the technical parts of QA. Test automation frameworks. CI/CD integration. Shift-left testing. API testing tools. The machinery of quality has never been better.
And yet. Knowledge still walks out the door every time someone leaves.
Teams three floors apart solve the same problems in isolation. Junior testers stall at "competent" because there's no visible path to "excellent." QA leads get promoted and immediately feel imposter syndrome because nobody taught them how to lead.
The machinery works. The humans operating it? They're often struggling alone. That's the gap I work in. Not tools. Not frameworks. The human infrastructure of quality.
