A special era in my career as QA & testing specialist came to an end on the 29th May 2026 as I left my previous employer OP Pohjola.
I had been with this financial organization for past 10 years. I joined then OP Financial Group’s Development and Technologies Department in June 2016 as a testing consultant and in 2020 I was internalized as a QA Lead. The organization just recently changed it’s name to OP Pohjola.
This time in the largest Finnish financial organization tought me a huge amount of things in ICT work, software development and all of its different and important areas, organizational communications, community building and especially Quality Assurance and software testing.
In addition to this i was fortunate to get involved in Learning and Development work in technology area and became to love competence development, training courses planning, mentoring (i.e. teaching) and improvement. Also I came to be part of runnign huge internal training organization in different positions, finally even as a Headmaster of the whole internal learning platform.
Even though I learnt a lot about technology, software development and different areas within these, it was clearly the amazing people I have the fondest and warmest memories of. The amount of awesome colleagues, both internals and externals, with whom I camo to collaborate, cooperate and work is huge. It is impossible to list all these people in order to thank them and show my gratitude but instead I created a video scrolling through some best memories during these years spent with OP Pohjola’s QA Community. Currently I am between jobs, waiting for my next assingment with a new employer to start in mid June 2026 and before that I am freelancing, representing my own company Paloheimo QA Mentorworks. There are few events I will be participating in in June before the new work starts.
I am looking forward to the new assingment start and opportunities to learn more but I am also looking backward with gratitude and love, toward those incredible 10 years I spent with fantastic people at OP Pohjola, some of which became my dear close friends ❤️.
